This is the best Indian restaurant in the area. Consistent, high quality food. Good beers and wines. Excellent, attentive service. A great place for a conversation over a meal when not too busy. Vegetarian options: All the usual vegetarian Indian options! Dietary restrictions: Great for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free, etc. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible including a button plate, roomy interior.

An upper market staple. I have lived in this city for 26 years. This restaurant has been here for that long and more. Great combination of meat and vegetarian plates!! Come try some!!! The staff are friendly and the Hindi music videos are entertaining!!

Tara is the best North Indian in San Francisco for its price point of ~$15 per entree. The level of effort and attention to detail represents exceptional value. Case in point, the tamarind sauce (provided with the mint chutney and chili sauce for the papadum) is mixed with subtle spices to cut the tartness, has a consistency that clings perfectly to the papadum, neither too thick nor too watery).

Nice and quiet on a Thursday night, not very crowded. Chicken curry was quite good. Decent overall spot in the neighborhood for north Indian food. The fresh rose at each table was also a nice touch.

This is the best restaurant I’ve been to in SF. The ambience is super amazing and very classy. Our waiter was amazing- thoughtful, attentive, and so personable. Waiter Devan is awesome! Great restaurant – great experience- keep up the good work!!

We had the lamb biryani and the paneer chow mein. Both were absolutely delicious. Shared spinach naan as well. Quick service and an enjoyable atmosphere. Vegetarian options: Paneer chow mein is delicious

Finally a delicious Indian restaurant in SF that I would like to go back to! I love to try Malai Koftas at different locations, searching for a good quality one. This Malai Kofta left me pleasantly surprised. Very flavorful, and delicious texture. Yam, and thank you!
